Developed on the initiative of the Council of Europe, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) is the reference document for describing the levels of language proficiency used to develop language certifications.

There are 6 levels: A1-A2 / B1-B2 / C1-C2.

The Ministry of Education and Youth offers a wide range of French as a foreign language certifications to validate French language skills, from the first learning stages to the most advanced levels

  • Initial french language diploma (DILF),
  • Diploma in french language studies (DELF),
  • Advanced french language diploma (DALF),
  • French knowledge and level tests

DILF, DELF, DALF Diplomas

Issued by the French Ministry of National Education and Higher Education, the DILF, DELF and DALF are official quality diplomas, harmonized with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL)

These diplomas are independent and valid without a time limit. Internationally recognised, they can be taken in more than 1000 examination centers around the world.

  • DILF: Initial Diploma of French Language

Public: Absolute beginners and newcomers to France - Level: A1.1

  • Diploma in french language studies (DELF)

Public: All audiences - Levels: A1-A2-B1-B2

Depending on the level, the DELF can enhance a curriculum vitae (CV) and make it easier to get a job in a company where French is the spoken language.

The DELF B1 allows you to obtain French nationality.

  • Advanced french language diploma (DALF)

Public: Adults in university or professional situations - Levels: C1-C2

The DELF B2, and increasingly the DALF C1, allow entry into French, European or Francophone universities, and into some higher education institutions.

Level of French for higher education

In order to be able to follow courses taught in French in a French higher education institution, foreign students must present a document attesting to their level of French.

This can be obtained by taking an official French exam or test, such as the DELF, DALF, TCF or TEF.

Access to French nationality, on the other hand, will require, as of April 2020, having reached the B1 level of oral and written French.

Payments :

The first 45-minute lesson (the trial lesson) is free.

Its goal is to get to know each other, to discuss your needs and expectations and to allow you to decide whether the teacher is right for you.

Lessons can be purchased individually by scheduling one lesson or in bundles by scheduling several appointments, but it is strongly advised to purchase lessons in multiples of 4. Learning a language is a long-term activity. We have found that commitment helps students develop good learning habits, plan ahead and succeed in achieving their goals. Committing to several lessons ensures that you book the time of the week that suits you the most for a long period of time.

By booking your courses one at a time, you may find that your preferred slot is not always available.

You can either pay by PayPal or through Stripe, an instant payment application.

Visa, Mastercard and American Express debit and credit cards are accepted.

Cash and cheque payments are not accepted.

Bank transfers are subject to an explicit request of the student and approval by the teacher.

They are accepted under the following conditions:

  • Payment for a minimum of 4 lessons
  • Proof of transfer to the teacher’s bank account at least 48 hours before the start of the first lesson

Inability to attend class :

You can cancel a course or lesson at least 24 hours before the scheduled date by informing the teacher immediately.

In case of a lesson, the teacher should offer 2 (two) alternative dates to make up for the class and finally perform the canceled class on the date selected by you. Should you cancel any course/private lesson within 24 hours before the scheduled date, then the class is not re-performed, and the Teacher is entitled to the full sum of the Fee payable for the canceled/missed course or private lesson.
